SEMA Virtual Education

The Future of Tuning

Recorded On: 08/25/2022

Cars have become more complex and computer-controlled; virtually every major system in new cars is connected and because vehicle safety systems are involved, OEMS often lock down access to their computer controls, limiting the aftermarket’s access to these complex systems.

Join Chris Johnson, Founder of SCT and JMS Performance Group, as he shares critical information on how vehicle tuners, powertrain calibration engineers, and manufacturers of aftermarket powertrain products for late-model, gas-powered vehicles can continue to modify vehicles with complex computer-control systems. Viewers will get expert insight on what the future of tuning looks like, and how innovative software companies can help.

Participants will walk away with knowledge on:

  • • If the industry will continue to be able to tune or recalibrate popular vehicle models
  • • How this access will be achieved
  • • What the chances are that certain models will remain locked out for the aftermarket
