Powering Tomorrow: Unveiling the Future of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure, Presented by SkillFusion

Upon completion of this three-part program, participants will acquire a foundational comprehension of the state of the electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE) industry, encompassing insights into workforce opportunities, available resources, and a holistic understanding of EVSE infrastructure. This includes a core understanding of hardware, software, as well as the installation, operation, and maintenance (O&M) aspects of EVSE systems.

After each individual session, students will walk away with transferrable knowledge and insights that contribute to their skill set and understanding. Malek brings a deep understanding of the automotive and emerging transportation industry as well as a bold vision for what the future of mobility holds.
    Malek Founded of Middle Third where she supports the future of mobility and the transition to vehicle electrification by working with early-stage mobility startups as well as early to mid-career automotive professionals on understanding and accessing opportunities within the evolving sector.

    Malek’s career included EV product development, corporate venture, and strategy at General Motors. She was the Co-founder and COO of May Mobility, first-of-its-kind autonomous vehicle transportation solution. She also served as the Executive Director of the Coalition for Reimagined Mobility, a global initiative of c-suite leaders and former regulators with a mission to inform, shape, and advocate for policies that address the changing mobility landscape through a systems lens that is rooted in research and puts people first.

    Malek has been recognized as a Notable Leader in EVs by Crain’s Detroit in 2022, received the University of a Michigan Department of Integrative Systems + Design (ISD) Alumni Merit Award in 2020, was named an Automotive News All Star in 2019, a top ten female innovator to watch by Smithsonian in 2018, and named a top automotive professional under 35 to watch by LinkedIn.     Prior to SkillFusion, Phillips’ entrepreneurial journey included co-founding True South Renewables Inc., the first and largest independent solar O&M company in the U.S., and 365-Pronto, a digital dispatch platform for solar technicians. His career in renewable technology also includes President of Solarrus, Founder and CEO of Pacific Renewables, Co-founder and President of EV Connect. Phillips is also a sought-after advisor for Fortune 50 and Global 2000 companies around the world.

    Rue is a frequent event keynote and technical speaker speaking on behalf of cleantech trends and he also serves on expert advisory committees for the development of codes and standards for the U.S. renewable energy industry. Additionally, Phillips is the host of EV Chat—a leading electrification podcast featuring the world’s leaders in vehicle development, battery innovation, charging infrastructure, and other emerging trends—and is the community founder for the LinkedIn Group, EV Infrastructure Forum.

    Prior to SkillFusion, Farnsworth was the CEO of The Next Education where she developed best-in-class certification and training programs designed to upskill and reskill the workforce in automotive careers related to electrification, autonomy, and cybersecurity. Previously, Farnsworth was appointed as the Director of Global Communications by the Board of Directors of the International Connected Vehicle Trade Association where she served for more than a decade.

    Farnsworth was honored as one of the Top 10 Influencers for North American Automotive Suppliers in 2018 and received the prestigious Rule Breaker Award in 2017. Additionally, Packard is a trusted advisor and consultant serving the EV charging infrastructure sector, providing expertise on business development, strategy, and utility infrastructure development.

With more than 30 decades in transportation electrification, Joffe is focused on policies and regulations and equity-related workforce development.  

     
    Additionally, Joffe is also the President of Green Paradigm Consulting, a firm focused on clean energy infrastructure project development, development and implementation of EV readiness plans, community outreach, grant writing, and project administration. Joffe’s career has also included roles with Electric Transportation Division of Southern California Edison and Edison EV, one of the first EV charging service providers.  She also co-founded Clean Fuel Connection to serve the growing market for electric vehicle infrastructure, which was responsible for the install of thousands of workplaces and public charging stations for customers such as Kaiser Permanente, Disney, CBRE, and dozens of local governments. 
     
    Joffe is a graduate of Barnard College and has a master's degree from UCLA. For more than a decade, she was active in local government in her hometown, serving on the City Planning Commission, General Plan Committee, City Council and as Mayor of Sierra Madre.
